I find the best part of teaching is when I have the privilege of working one-on-one with students.  There is something amazing about sitting with a child who doesn’t fully understand a problem and giving them focused attention to unlock the door to complete understanding.  That is pure joy!

I earned my BS in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley.

I’ve worked as a test engineer at the Southern California Gas Company, a utilities engineer at the Port of San Francisco, and a design engineer for the International Space Station.  I left there to work as the training and sales director for Adventure 16, and that’s where my interest in teaching was first sparked.

I moved to Cape Cod in 1999, tutoring math and science, and in 2002 I started teaching math and science, study skills, working as the Science Department Chair, and directing our Science and Engineering Fair at Falmouth Academy.

In 2025 I moved to Illinois, where I currently work as a math teacher at the Baker Demonstration School in Wilmette.
